We’re dedicated to helping advance contact lens development and eye health by bringing exciting new products and technologies to the marketplace. Our focus is on performing independent research to determine the safety and effectiveness of new contact lenses.

Meet The Team
Dr. Anne Brobst
Dr. Anne Brobst was one of the founding members of the Johns Creek Research Clinic in 2018. Along with her optometric practice background, she brings over 18 years of vision care research experience as a clinical investigator and project lead in ventures focused primarily on optimizing contact lens materials and designs.
She graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Member of the American Optometric Association and Georgia Optometric Association.
Dr. Brobst is married and has an active son in middle school. In her spare time, she enjoys watching sports, hiking with her dog, enjoying the outdoors and cheering on her beloved Buckeyes with her family.
Dr. Michael Hung
Dr. Michael Hung joined the JCRC team in April 2018 bringing with him a diverse clinical background in comprehensive optometry, contact lenses, refractive surgery, ocular disease treatment, and surgical management. Working primarily on early stage contact lens-related studies at the JCRC, Dr. Hung has past experience in ocular pharmaceutical and surgical device research. He graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry and completed a Residency in Ocular Disease at Omni Eye Services of Atlanta.
Dr. Hung is married with two beautiful young daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking and baking with his family, golfing, and hiking the great outdoors.
Crystal Smith joined the Johns Creek Research Clinic team as a Clinical Research Coordinator in July of 2019. She holds an MBA from University of Phoenix and received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology with a specialization in Health and Humanities from Michigan State University. Crystal brings 11 years of research experience to JCRC, she has worked on clinical trials involving Alzheimer’s, Kidney Disease, Autism, and Cosmeceuticals to name a few.
Crystal is very passionate about all forms of clinical research and encourages people to participate whenever they have the opportunity to do so. She believes that without research and participants we are unable to move to the next level in discoveries and innovative treatments.
When Crystal is not working on a clinical trial she enjoys spending time with her loving husband and 4 children; Brooklynn, Savanna, Olivia, and Harrison. She is also a creative who loves to design and help bring other’s ideas to life!
Shiraz Khun Haron
Shiraz Khun Haron is a medical scientist and clinical research professional with more than 8 years research experience in healthcare and academia. She grew up in Northern Israel and moved to the US in 2016. She has a PhD from Tel Aviv University in Physiology and Pharmacology specializing in cardiovascular research, and a Master’s degree from the Hebrew University Department of Human Genetics specializing in retinal development, and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
She has always been passionate about research and enjoys being a part of clinical research, bringing innovative treatment and devices that can improve people’s lives.
When Shiraz is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her dog, Archie. She loves riding motorcycles, kayaking, and wood working. She is also a member and has a leadership role in the Atlanta chapter of the Women in Bio organization. She also volunteers her time to provide support and inspiration to today’s girls by mentoring them to become tomorrow’s leaders.
Tammi Lacy joined the JCRC in January 2017, just in time to greet our first participants in the clinic! She holds an Associate’s Degree in Web Design and is self-trained in design software, which she uses to design the clinic’s marketing materials. Tammi also has over 10 years’ experience as an Optician, teaching countless new contact lens wearers to properly manage their lenses. In her 20+ years customer service experience, she has managed trade shows, software user events, and many, many parties.
Being the “mood maker” of the team, Tammi brings a bit of sunshine to the clinic. Our subjects look forward to her calls and to seeing her smiling face when they arrive. She is proud to call JCRC home and loves working with her team.
An artist at heart, Tammi works with resin in her spare time to create beautiful pieces for her Etsy shop (you may have seen a couple around the clinic). She also loves photography, cake decorating, and spending time with her husband of 20 years and 16 year old bratty little cat, Franklin.
Jennifer Hill is the clinic manager and backbone of the JCRC. She began her career in the legal field, however, healthcare has always piqued her interests. While she holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, healthcare has always found a way into Jennifer’s career choices. She began her research career at CIBA Vision working on phase IV clinical trials. She then moved into the Program Administrator role managing the third largest Internal Medicine Residency Program in the nation. Upon joining PRA Health Sciences, Jennifer and team opened the Johns Creek Research Clinic (JCRC) in 2016.
Jennifer is a certified contact lens fitter through the National Contact Lens Examiners. During her tenure at CIBA Vision she developed a passion for not only research but also contact lenses, contact lens fitting and overall eye health. Embracing her passion she has over ten years’ experience in the healthcare management field and research fields.
Born and raised in New York, Jennifer moved to the Atlanta area in the 1990s. She has two boys, one dog, one cat and has been married for over twenty years. Jennifer enjoys gardening and yoga in her free time. She volunteers her time by co-coordinating the Atlanta chapter of the Young Survival Coalition; a group of young adults facing breast cancer.
